A Look Back At Zendaya’s Top TV & Film Performances

From Disney Channel star to one of Hollywood’s brightest young actresses, Zendaya has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry with her versatile acting skills and magnetic on-screen presence.

With Euphoria and the Spider-Man franchise gaining immense popularity in the last couple of years, Zendaya has quickly become one of the most talented and sought-after actresses in Hollywood. From her early days as a child actor to her latest work in blockbuster films, the actress has proven that she has what it takes to become a Hollywood icon for years to come. Ahead, we’ll take a look back at some of Zendaya’s top movies and TV shows that have helped solidify her star status in the industry.

Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)

Zendaya has earned critical acclaim for her portrayal of MJ in the Spider-Man film franchise. In the latest instalment, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Zendaya’s character becomes a crucial part of the plot as she helps Peter Parker navigate through the multiverse. Her chemistry with co-star Tom Holland has also won over audiences, making their on-screen relationship one of the most beloved in recent years.

The final film chronicles Parker’s struggle after Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) exposes his identity as Spider-Man. Zendaya returns for the last time as MJ. However, Spider-Man producers Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige hinted that a sequel trilogy is in the works. Titled Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, which is expected to debut March 29th, 2024 with the same cast, has been described as the set-up for Seinfeld’s Spider-Woman-centred spinoff film. Does that mean more Tom and Zendaya? We’ll have to wait to find out.

Euphoria (2019 - Present)

In the HBO series Euphoria, Zendaya plays Rue, a teenage drug addict struggling to navigate her way through life and high school. The role is a departure from her previous work and showcases her dramatic range as an actress. Her performance not only earned her critical acclaim, including an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, but the show itself became an iconic part of pop culture history.

The Greatest Showman (2017)

Zendaya shows off her impressive vocal and dance skills in the musical film The Greatest Showman. She plays Anne Wheeler, a trapeze artist who falls in love with Zac Efron’s character. The film received mixed reviews from critics but was a box office success, and the soundtrack became one of the best-selling albums of 2018.

Shake It Up (2010-2013)

Where it all began! Zendaya’s first major series, Shake It Up, aired on the Disney Channel from 2010 to 2013 — and it had the catchiest theme song by Selena Gomez (“Everybody, everybody, get out on the floor..”). Zendaya stars as Rocky Blue, while Bella Thorne plays her best friend, Cece Jones. The show chronicles the duo’s journey as they audition for and earn a spot in Shake It Up, Chicago!, a local television dance show, and work their way towards their dream of becoming professional dancers.

K.C. Undercover (2015 - 2018)

K.C. Undercover was Zendaya’s breakout role on the Disney Channel. After Shake It Up, the actress starred in her own series on Disney Channel. This time she played K.C. Cooper, a teenage maths whiz and karate black belt living in Washington, D.C. After discovering that her parents are undercover spies, she’s asked to join their organization. The show was a hit with young audiences and helped launch Zendaya’s career in Hollywood.
