Marvel Cinematic Universe has officially kicked off its Phase 5 with Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania, the third movie in the sub-franchise and it has gotten fans wondering about the future of the series and the titular Ant-Man’s, AKA Scott Lang, role in the MCU going forward.

In the latest movie, Lang (Paul Rudd), Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), and Lang’s daughter Cassie (Kathryn Newton) travel to the Quantum Realm where secrets about their universe and Janet’s past have been hidden. We also get our first look at Kang the Conqueror, the newest adversary that’s more formidable than any other our favourite superheroes have faced.

The movie has been getting mixed reviews, with some lauding the movie for setting up the Multiverse Saga (that’s what the makers are calling Phase 4, 5, and 6 of the MCU) perfectly, while others criticising it for a thin plot and lack of any emotional connect.

While such a reaction is par for the course with any MCU movie, especially the ones after Avengers: Endgame, Quantumania is especially crucial as it is the first movie in the new Phase and has the responsibility to set the tone for the ones to come.

So will we see an Ant-Man 4? And what will happen to Scott Lang in the future? Read on to find out everything we know so far…

Will there be an Ant-Man 4?

The Multiverse Saga kicked off with Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) and continued with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness(2022), and entered Phase 5 with Quantumania. With how seamlessly the MCU crosses over between different sub-franchises, it won’t be surprising that Ant-Man and/or the Wasp make an appearance in any future movies in the Multiverse Saga. *SPOILER ALERT* The two end credit scenes in Quantumania showed that Kang has multiple versions so we know for sure that we haven’t seen the last of the villain.

Ant-Man has the unique advantage of facing off against Kang and might prove useful in the future.

A few days before the movie’s release, Marvel Studios producer Stephen Broussard had revealed that a conversation about Ant-Man 4 has already been started. While this doesn’t confirm or deny the possibility of a future fourth instalment in the series, things do look promising.

As for Lang, in 2015 it was revealed that Rudd had signed a contract for three movies plus appearances in crossover events. With Quantumania, the deal seems to be completed. But there has been no official confirmation on this from either the actor or the Studios.
