Good Earth’s New Tableware Collection Is Luxe & Colourful

Luxury Indian design house Good Earth has never let us down when it comes to elevating decor and the new tableware collection is right up there with some of our favourite lines from the brand.

Mirage, the new collection, features place settings in fine bone china designed as complete sets in a range of complementary colours, all edged in gold.

The tableware line is a part of the brand’s 2023 annual design collection, titled Tangier, which the majestic beauty of North Africa has inspired. French-Tunisian designer Thierry Journo has collaborated with Good earth’s founder and creative director Anita Lal to create this unique collection based on his multi-cultural heritage and their shared love of colours.

“We wanted to push the boundaries of design and create something that surprises and delights the senses through kaleidoscopic patterns and colours. Given his French-Tunisian heritage and his love and deep understanding of the region, we selected the acclaimed illustrator and designer Thierry Journo to create a range of tableware for the Tangier design collection. Through his unfettered imagination, he has created a vibrant landscape of music and magic under the desert sky, and we named it ‘Mirage’, a French term for Illusion especially connected with the desert”, said Lal, on the collaboration.

Journo added, “This collaboration was built on a sense of friendship combined with creativity, with both Anita and I working together to celebrate our shared passion for design, history and travel. I knew we could create something really special together. My inspiration comes from Orientalist painters such as Eugène Delacroix to depict a design language that revels in the nuances of detail and careful combinations of colour. My childhood memories of the golden sun, blue skies, and abundant wildlife in Tunisia transform into magical motifs that appear in this collection and seem to suspend reality.”

The collection comprises embroidered table linen, glassware, and decor accents. You can also find salad bowls, pasta plates, antique gold demitasse cups and sixers, and tea sets with the motif of swaying palms in the collection.

The unique motifs have been elaborately hand-painted and developed over the course of a year and have been rendered in colours like coral shell, rose blush, pale leaf, cool aquamarine, deep turquoise, and rich cerise.

The collection will be available at Good Earth stores from March 1, 2023.
