The 65th Annual Grammy Awards, AKA the biggest night in the international music scene, were held on Sunday night in Los Angeles with comedian Trevor Noah playing the host for the third time in a row.

With the number of brilliant artists nominated this year, it was no surprise that the awards packed many big highlights and celebrated some of the best talents in the industry, like Taylor Swift, Lizzo, and more.

From Harry Styles‘ big win of the night to Beyoncé making Grammys history, here are all the major highlights from the night…

Harry Styles and the Album of The Year

The ‘As It Was’ singer scored a big win at the awards night by taking home the trophy for the ‘Album of The Year’ for Harry’s House. The singer was left visibly moved and said, “This is very kind. Things like this don’t normally happen to people like me,” as he accepted the award. The other albums nominated in the category included Beyoncé’s Renaissance, Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale And The Big Steppers, and ABBA’s Voyage.

Beyoncé’s record-breaking Grammy count

The ‘Single Ladies’ hitmaker became the most awarded artist in Grammy history after winning the trophy for ‘Best Dance/Electronic Album’ for her comeback studio album Renaissance. The singer now has a total of 32 Grammys.

Kim Petras became the first transgender woman to win a Grammy

Kim Petras and Sam Smith’s collaboration had already won over the Internet after becoming one of the most-heard songs around the world with ‘Unholy’, but the two charted another big win at the Grammys last night. The singers won the award in the ‘Best Pop Duo/Group Performance’ category. Petras became the first transgender woman to win a Grammy, making this a monumental moment in queer history.

Indian artist Ricky Kej bagged his third Grammy

Bengaluru-based musician Ricky Kej brought home a Grammy trophy for the third time because of his collaboration with rock veteran Stewart Copeland. The duo won the award for their album Divine Tides in the ‘Best Immersive Audio Album’ category.

Noah announced during his opening monologue that he had a big surprise for Adele. The surprise turned out to be Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who Adele wanted to meet badly. The ‘Hello’ singer appeared elated after meeting the former wrestler and it was easily one of the most heartwarming moments of the night.

Viola Davis became an EGOT

The How To Get Away With Murder actress completed her EGOT (that’s Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony) status at the awards last night after winning a trophy for ‘Best Audio Book Narration, and Storytelling Recording’ for her spoken word album Finding Me.
