Colombian pop star and possessor of hips that don’t lie, Shakira has released a new song that is a clear diss track about her ex-husband Gerard Piqué. The song, titled ‘BZRP Music Sessions Volume 53’, produced with Argentinian DJ Bizarrap was released without much fanfare but went viral instantly because of its supremely catchy tune and razor-sharp lyrics aimed at the footballer.

Shakira and Piqué had separated last June amid rumours of the former Barcelona player having an affair with a then-22-year-old Clara Chia. The ‘She-Wolf’ singer brings this up with the lyrics, “I’m worth two 22’s. You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo. You traded a Rolex for a Casio... A lot of gyms, but work your brain a little bit too.”

Aside from going viral because of being the first Latin pop diss track in the world, the song has racked up nearly 150 million views on YouTube and has become the most-watched new Latin music video in the platform’s history. It has also racked record-breaking numbers across all streaming platforms.

While Piqué has not directly addressed the diss track, he did show up at an event in a Twingo car and announced that he has signed a sponsorship deal with Casio. But Shakira has made it clear that she is (sort of) past all the drama, as she sings, “No hard feelings babe. I wish you good luck with my so-called replacement. I don’t even know what happened, you’re acting so weird I don’t even recognise you.”
