‘Luxury’ is for the discerning. It’s defined not just by a price tag but more so by exquisite taste and an eye for experiences that stand out. Nine fashion-forward, glamorous ladies share their most luxurious escapades and choices of the year with HELLO!

We got together with lawyer & luxury consultant Simran Grewal to find out about her most luxurious experiences are and more.

Luxury to me: “Has two aspects:one of consumption in terms of material things and experiences that focus on quality, beauty and elegance; and the second that involves the ability to lead a holistic lifestyle with a great work-life balance.”

Most lavish holiday this year: “My favourite holiday every year is at a friend’s villa in Tuscany in the Chianti Hills, with afternoons spent hiking, wine tasting and hopping across to the Uffizi in Florence to stare at my favourite Renaissance masterpieces.”

Most luxurious fashion purchase: “This year, it was a Bottega Veneta Jodie mini bag, a Christopher Kane knit sweater, a Proenza Schouler jersey dress and a pair of Mugler jeans.”

A splendid culinary experience: “It was at the home of my friend Brigadier Sukhjit Singh of Kapurthala, with the palace staff serving us a delightful five-course meal with various meats, curries and exotic vegetables. Besides the food and wine, it was the conversation that had such range, depth and humour, thanks to his royal highness, who’s a decorated soldier and a connoisseur of luxury.”

Most luxurious bucket list item: “This was setting up my own platform dedicated to fashion, art and culture, directed through my own lens, which I named Vanguard Voices.”

My favourite high-end labels: “Loewe, Victoria Beckham, JW Anderson, Khaite, Awake Mode, Agolde, Valentino, Self-Portrait, Nanushka, Max Mara, Proenza Schouler and Celine. Among Indian brands, I’d say Sabyasachi, Raw Mango and Cheri D make me feel like a princess any day, any time and any place, whether it’s an art gallery opening or a friend’s wedding.”

My favourite luxuristas: “Sharis Shir from Dubai is truly a luxury connoisseur, and I adore Meghan Markle’s taste.”
