We now live in a world where we can enjoy new and exciting releases right in the comfort of our homes on our television screens. While movie theatres are back in action with an exciting roster of films for the upcoming months, there’s no denying that OTT platforms are an equally powerful medium of entertainment these days.

The year is kicking off with some exciting titles that can be streamed online. Many old favourites are returning with a new season this month, like Shark Tank India and Ginny & Georgia. We’re finally going to be able to stream the much-awaited spin-off of That ’70s Show soon. Aside from these, there are some exciting new shows and movies that we can’t wait to watch online.

Mission Majnu (20 Jan)

After many delays, Sidharth Malhotra’s spy thriller is finally getting released on Netflix. The movie is supposed to be an untold story of India’s greatest covert operation during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971. It also stars Rashmika Mandanna.

That ’90s Show (19 Jan)

In this spin-off of That ’70s Show, Kitty and Red Forman’s granddaughter visits Wisconsin to spend the summer with them. The original cast members, including Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, and Wilder Valderrama, will be reprising their roles in the show.

This K-drama follows the story of a mother navigating the cut-throat world of private education in Korea when she tries to get her daughter shortlisted for a celebrity math instructor’s class.

Everyone’s favourite show about IRL Crazy Rich Asians is getting a spin-off! The show is moving from Los Angeles to New York City with this new edition. The show’s cast will include fashion’s current ‘It’ girl Tina Leung.

Mumbai Mafia: Police vs the Underworld (Jan 6)

Another addition to the slew of true crime documentaries Netflix has been churning out, this one follows the rise of ‘encounter cops’ in Mumbai and their clashes with a crime boss in the ’90s.

The Rig (Jan 6)

This six-episodes-long supernatural thriller follows an oil rig crew that gets cut off from communication with the mainland after encountering a mysterious fog. Their endurance is tested when they’re confronted with forces beyond their understanding.

Taaza Khabar (Jan 6)

Bhuvan Bam stars in this show about an underprivileged sanitation worker whose life is changed after a good deed grants him superpowers. The show also stars Shriya Pilgaonkar, Deven Bhojani, and JD Chakravarthy.
