The Hargreeves are coming back to save the world (yet again) in The Umbrella Academy’s fourth season and we couldn’t be more excited!

The last we saw of the extraordinary bunch was when they found themselves stranded in an alternate timeline where The Umbrella Academy doesn’t exist and, instead, Reginald Hargreeves had created another superhero team dubbed as ‘The Sparrow Academy’, with Ben who is actually dead in their original timeline. After a series of twists and turns, we ended up with the Hargreeves losing all their powers in a newly reset universe and all of them going their separate ways.

The makers of the series had announced back in August that we would be going on one final adventure with The Umbrella Academy in season four and here’s everything we know about it so far!

What is it going to be about?

While we don’t know much about what the fourth season will be about, it’s safe to say that the siblings will be reuniting to save the world once again. Luther would be looking for his wife Sloane, who disappeared at the end of the last season. We would also be seeing more of Ben who is now alive in their universe and was in Seoul, South Korea, when we last saw him. A fan account on Twitter shared that the fourth season of TUA would take place nine years after the events of the last season’s finale.

How many episodes will the fourth season have?

Showrunner Steve Blackman had confirmed on Twitter that the fourth, and final, season would have six episodes, instead of the 10 we had for the third one. He also hinted that fans will love the six episodes as it will be an exciting ride.

“I’m so excited that the incredibly loyal fans of The Umbrella Academy will be able to experience the fitting end to the Hargreeves siblings‘ journey we began five years ago. But before we get to that conclusion, we’ve got an amazing story ahead for season four, one that will have fans on the edge of their seats until the final minutes,” he said in an interview.

Who all are going to be in the fourth season?

While it hasn’t been confirmed yet, we know for sure that the OG Hargreeves would be returning. So we’re going to see Luther (Tom Hopper), Diego (David Castañeda), Klaus (Robert Sheehan), Five (Aiden Gallagher), Victor (Elliott Page), and Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman). With how the third season ended, it’s safe to say that Lila (Ritu Arya) and Ben (Justin H Min) will also be there. Since Sloane (Genesis Rodriguez) disappeared in the last season, we don’t know if we’ll see her or learn of her fate off-screen.

When will we be able to see the fourth season?

There is no confirmation on the release date for season four, but the filming for the same will start in February, which means the whole season could be released at the end of this year or the beginning of the next. Till then, you can rewatch seasons one to three on Netflix and catch up on their wild adventures.
