Just like plum cake and merry carols, Home Alone has become a Christmas staple ever since it was released in 1990. The classic movie became an instant phenomenon that shattered box office records at the time of its release and continued to be a beloved holiday watch over the years.

Starring Macaulay Culkin, Catherine O’Hara, Joe Pesci, and Daniel Stern, the movie followed the adventures of a young Kevin McCallister who gets left behind after his family leaves for a Christmas vacation. Home alone, Kevin has to defend himself and the house against two bumbling burglars with cunning schemes and hilarious traps.

The movie has completed three decades now and has seen several sequels and reboots, but there’s no denying that the original remains supreme.

So as our annual Home Alone binge-watching night inches closer, we decided to take a look at the cast of the beloved classic and where are they now.

Unfortunately two cast members, John Heard (who played Kevin’s dad) and John Candy (who played the family’s airport rescuer Gus Polinski) are no longer with us.

Along with the movie’s sequel, Pesci went on to star in several of Martin Scorcese’s crime-family dramas, like Goodfellas for which he earned an Oscar. He would go on to earn his third Oscar nomination with The Irishman in 2019.
