SS Rajamouli’s mega-blockbuster film RRR has added another feather to its already crowded hat. The period action drama has earned two nominations at the Golden Globe Awards.
The movie, with its high-octane action sequences and chest-thumping patriotism, managed to capture the imagination of western audiences who have been raving about it online for the past few months. Many prominent figures like Patton Oswalt, James Gunn, Russo Brothers, and Seth Morgan count themselves to be card-carrying members of the movie’s fan club.
RRR’s streak of global domination continues with the two nods at the Golden Globes. It has been nominated for Best Picture non-English language category and Best Original Song category for ‘Naatu Naatu’. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the news on Twitter recently.

For the Best Picture non-English language category, it’s going up against Decision To Leave (Korea), All Quiet On The Western Front (Germany), Argentina, 1985 (Argentina), and Close (Belgium, France, Netherlands).
The super-catchy number ‘Naatu Naatu’ by composer MM Keeravani has been nominated against original songs from movies like Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Top Gun: Maverick.
