With movies like Top Gun: Maverick knocking it out of the park at the box office, and action films like Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan being one of the most anticipated movies of the coming year, it’s no surprise that another action movie has got people excited to head to the theatres.
The movie, Devotion, stars Jonathan Majors and Glen Powell and follows the true story of two elite US Navy fighter pilots who helped turn the tide in the most brutal battle in the Korean War.
Before you head to the big screen to experience the awe-inspiring story of sacrifice and friendship in the face of tragedy, here’s a quick lowdown of everything you need to know before watching Devotion…
What is Devotion about?
The movie, directed by J.D Dillard, is based on the 2015 novel by Adam Makos, titled Devotion: An Epic Story of Heroism, Friendship, and Sacrifice. The film follows the true story of Jesse Brown, the first Black aviator in U.S Navy history and his friendship with fellow fighter pilot Tom Hudner. As mentioned above, their story is set against the backdrop of the Korean War in the ’50s.
Who is in Devotion?
Aside from Majors and Powell, the movie also stars singer Joe Jonas. Even though Jonas is no stranger to acting (hello, Camp Rock?!), he is making his big-screen debut with this one. The movie also stars Christina Jackson, Thomas Sadoski, Serinda Swan, and Daren Kagasoff.
When can we see Devotion on the big screen?
While the movie was released in the US on November 23, it will hit the theaters in India on December 2, 2022.
Wait! Is there a Joe Jonas song in the OST?
How can you have one-third of one of the most popular boy bands around as a cast member in a film and not have him make a song for the movie? Jonas has revealed that he has co-written a song called ‘Not Alone’, that he performs with Khalid, for the movie’s end credits.
