The tenth episode of Koffee With Karan had the cast of the upcoming movie Phone Bhoot grace the Kouch. Katrina Kaif, Ishaan Khatter, and Siddhant Chaturvedi, the trio who are going to star together in the horror comedy were their candid best in the episode, with conversation moving from Kaif’s much-talked-about wedding to, of course, nepotism in Bollywood.

Johar was joined by Kaif first, with the boys making an appearance a little while into the show, and the host brought up the fact that their relationship could very well have begun on the Kouch itself. He reminded her of the previous season where he had asked her who she thinks she would look good with on-screen, to which she had replied saying “Vicky Kaushal”, not even fully knowing he exists as, according to her, he wasn’t even on her radar. In a subsequent episode, Kaushal was informed of Kaif’s answer after which he promptly pretended to faint with delighted shock. If this isn’t the stuff good old rom-coms are made of then we don’t know what is what.

Kaushal and Kaif’s heartwarming relationship isn’t the only big highlight from the episode, so without further ado, here are all the top highlights from the tenth episode of Koffee With Karan

VicKat 4ever

While we can dedicate an endless amount of words to document all the times VicKat made us feel hopelessly single and alone, for the sake of our fragile hearts, we’ll just stick to this one adorable detail about their relationship. Kaif revealed that for one of her birthdays, when she was not feeling well, Kaushal prepared a 45-minute long concert where he danced to all of her most iconic songs, complete with the original choreography. Khatter echoed our collective sentiments when he petitioned for Kaif to release ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ ft. Vicky Kaushal. Dear Universe, are you listening?

Siddhant Chaturvedi on Nepotism

If there are two Konstants on the Koffee Kouch, they’re ‘nepotism’ and ‘Kabir Singh rehabilitation’. While, thankfully, there was no mention of the problematic Shahid Kapoor-starrer on the show, Johar did bring up nepotism, especially because of Chaturvedi’s iconic statement. If you recall, the Gully Boy actor had a succinct reply to Ananya Panday’s explanation of why it’s unfair for people to judge star kids in an interview.

When asked to comment on this, he said, “I mean there was no intention to kind of harm anybody or cause any kind of hurt. I thought it was just my truth and I will always speak my truth because I mean yes, you know it’s been a bit difficult. It’s always the journey that is harder but I embrace it, I really love where I come from. But that’s my truth and everybody has their own truth and that was the line about struggle. They have their own struggle of acceptance. It takes a while. That’s my observation, that was my truth. But having said that, it’s a talk which will keep going on -Nepotism. We just can’t keep complaining about it.”

Ishaan Khatter on Ananya Panday, his ex

In an earlier episode this season, Johar had managed to wheedle out a confession from Ananya Panday that she was dating, and has now broken up with, Khatter. The Dhadhak actor low-key called out Johar for putting Panday on the spot like that and said, “Yeah, I mean, I would hope to have her as a friend for the rest of my life. She is one of the most wonderful people I have known. She is a sweetheart, she really is. Anyone who has met her would say this. She genuinely is a sweetheart. And all pulpy questions aside, she is someone who is very dear to me and will always remain so.”

Katrina Kaif’s Queen status: Confirmed

If her co-stars, and husband, are to be believed, Kaif is one of the wisest people in the film industry at the moment. The actress has been known to dispense pearls of wisdom in her interviews, from self-care tips to life mantras everyone should follow. In the episode, she didn’t let up, with her giving solid relationship advice (“(Kaushal’s) principles and values are so strong, and that to me was overwhelming. This is not my first relationship. So by that time, you know what are the important things. The important things are not necessarily the frills and the fun but it’s what’s going to take you through in the long run.”) to being a champion of work-life balance by saying she sees her co-actors Khatter and Chaturvedi working more than 20 hours on set but doesn’t feel compelled to join them!

Karan Johar on not being invited to the VicKat wedding

Johar is all of us and we’re all Johar when it comes to being salty about not receiving an invitation to Kaif’s wedding. The couple had only invited super-close friends and family to their destination wedding and Johar has spent a majority of this season bringing the fact that he didn’t make the cut up at every opportunity he could. So naturally, he brought it up in front of one of the offenders herself, in good humour, and Kaif just laughed it off.
