Inarguably two of the hottest Bollywood actors of the moment, Vicky Kaushal and Sidharth Malhotra were the guests on Koffee With Karan this week.
The two Punjabi lads are super private about their lives (as private as any current Bollywood star can be) and fans of the two were excited to see what new things they would discover about the actors on the show. And the episode didn’t disappoint.

Host Karan Johar started off the episode with a monologue about critics and how Bollywood celebrities react to them, leading him to call on the guests for the night who have been critic-favourites because of their last few films.

Both the actors looked dapper as they made their way to the Kouch to kick off an episode filled with Kaushal making us all question whether we’re more jealous of him or Katrina Kaif, Johar needling the boys to reveal more about their relationships, and their take on their unique career journey.
Without further ado, here are the top highlights from the seventh episode of Koffee With Karan…
Vicky-Katrina’s love story’s origins
Everybody who has a working Internet connection has seen the clip of Kaushal swooning on the Koffee Kouch after he finds out that Kaif had said on a previous episode that he is the actor she would look good with on-screen. The Raazi actor admitted that this was the first time he realised Kaif knew he existed, as they had not met nor interacted before this instance. Johar took this as a sign that his Kouch has manifestation powers and played a crucial role in getting one of Bollywood’s most loved couples together.
Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani are dating: Confirmed
With the two celebrities being spotted together on multiple occasions, even on exotic vacations, it was an open secret that the Shershaah co-stars had been dating each other for a while. In his trademark fashion, Johar continued to ask Malhotra questions about his and Advani’s wedding plans, even going as far to show a clip from Kiara Advani’s upcoming KWK episode where she failed to hide the fact that the two were, in fact, dating and planning to get married soon. Ultimately, Malhotra confirmed the news, when he answered a Rapid Fire question about which current actress he wishes was single by saying he is glad Advani was single.
Dissing Student of the Year
If anyone can take a joke on themselves, it’s Johar. The director is remarkably self-aware of the faults in his filmmaking process. This was made abundantly clear when he started roasting his own film Student of The Year, much to the exasperation of Malhotra who made his debut with the film, alongside Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. Johar revealed how there was no script for the movie and he had no memory of shooting the first four days. He even went on to say that nobody should expect logic when they see ‘directed by Karan Johar’ before a film when recalling how he tried hard to come up with reasons for Malhotra’s character benign able to afford designer clothing despite being poor.
Reacting to thirst Tweets
In the most awkward segment of the show, Johar decided to show Kaushal and Malhotra a collection of thirst Tweets on their photos. It was clear that both the actors were mortified and had nothing to say about the comments and Johar was the only one having the time of his life at their flustered demeanours.
Comparison to their contemporaries
When questioned about whether the two actors ever felt insecure and compared their career trajectories with contemporaries like Ranveer Singh or Ranbir Kapoor, Kaushal replied that they’re all on parallel journeys. He revealed that he used to watch most of his contemporaries, including Malhotra’s, movies when he wasn’t even an actor. So it doesn’t feel right for him to compare his journey with the others as it doesn’t come to him organically.
