Only BTS can have an eight times Grammy award-winning artist to specially make an appearance and get behind the drums for one of their songs during their set. Silk Sonic’s Anderson .Paak joined the band for a performance of their new track much to the delight of their fans worldwide.
The Korean band celebrated their ninth anniversary and release of their album Proof with a special 25-minute long live session on YouTube, titled ‘Proof Live’. The seven members spend the near half-hour talking about the past year when the world struggled to adjust to a new order amidst the pandemic and the ideology behind releasing an anthology album.
The band also performed three songs, including their latest lead single ‘Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment), where .Paak slipped behind the drums and joined the band for a memorable performance.
Later, the performer joined the septet to talk about the song and their mutual admiration for each other.
“I love it. It reminds me of church,” said .Paak, when asked about his first impressions of the song. He also slipped in a few Korean phrases to express how amazing he thinks the band is.
The collab has been a dream of fans worldwide, fuelled by the fact that both .Paak and BTS have expressed their love for each other on social media over the past few months. .Paak’s son is also an ARMY and the singer credits him for getting him onboard the BTS hype train. The two even attended each other’s perfromances in LA and Vegas when BTS was in the States for their concert series.
But since all good things come to an end, .Paak left after the performance (“He’s probably the busiest man in America right now,” said the band’s leader RM).
Aside from ‘Yet To Come’, the band also performed one of their old tracks ‘Born Singer’ and their new song that was dedicated to ARMYs ‘For Youth’.
If the Universe is listening, please consider this a formal request for a proper BTS and Silk Sonic collab. Please and thank you!
