Recently, Star Wars fans around the world celebrated the release of a new series about their favourite Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. In it, Ewan McGregor reprises his iconic character after almost 17 years since Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith.
While fans have already taken to social media to express their love for the first two episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Lucasfilms isn’t stopping right there. During the recent Star Wars convention, which was held in California to celebrate the iconic franchise, it was announced that there are many more upcoming Star Wars series lined up for 2022 and 2023.
One of the upcoming series, Andor, will focus on the journey of Cassian Jeron Andor (played by Diego Luna) turning into a rebel hero during a time of unrest and dange. The two-part series will take place five years before Rogue One and will consist of 12 episodes in both seasons. Andor will be released later this year on August 31, 2022, on Disney+.
As fans around the world got together to celebrate the iconic legacy of Star Wars during the convention, they also received major news about some Disney+ shows that are slated for release. This includes an animated series, Ahsoka, season three of The Mandalorian, Skeleton Crew (starring Jude Law), and many more that are scheduled to release in the coming year. The upcoming season of the hit series The Mandalorian will be releasing in 2023, along with Skeleton Crew, a series that follows a group of 10-year-olds that get lost in a galaxy far, far away, and must find their way back home. The new series will take place right after Return of the Jedi, fitting perfectly into the time of The Mandalorian and Ahsoka.
Along with the series, the franchise also announced its latest game, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a sequel to the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. It’s safe to say that this is the best time to be a Star Wars fan; with so many series lined up, get ready to have your minds blown!
