Our favourite trouble-making ginger cat is finally back on the big screen and this time, some of the biggest celebrities in Hollywood will be part of Garfield’s clan. Joining the Guardians of the Galaxy star, Chris Pratt, Samuel L. Jackson is all set to lend his voice to the upcoming animated adaptation of the famous comic, Garfield. In November 2021, it was announced that Pratt will be voicing our favourite lasagna-loving cat and now Jackson is gearing up to play the role of Garfield’s father, Vic. The movie will be directed by Mark Dindal who is known for the popular Disney film, Chicken Little, and written by the Finding Nemo writer, David Reynolds.

Created by James Rober Davis and released in 1978, the Garfield comic revolves around the life of a lazy orange cat and his owner, Jon Arbuckle, along with co-pet sibling, Odie. Garfield made people around the world laugh with his goofiness and his hatred for Mondays. Yup, even cats hate Mondays. The comic was earlier adapted as a motion picture film in 2006, starring Bill Murray as Garfield and Breckin Meyer as Jon, breaking box office records worldwide.

And while the film is yet to cast the role of Jon Arbuckle, we’re all just excited to see our favourite Persian tabby cat back on the screen.
