Baby is finally not going to be in the corner anymore as Lionsgate recently announced the Dirty Dancing sequel at the 2022 CinemaCon. After almost 35 years since the original Dirty Dancing hit the screens, Jennifer Grey is all set to reprise her iconic character, Frances “Baby” Houseman. Starring alongside Patrick Swayze, the pair has given us one of the most iconic romantic films of all time. During CinemaCon, while not many details were given out about the sequel, Lionsgate did confirm that in the next chapter, Grey will be returning to the upscale resort in Catskill, Kellerman, where the original 1987 film was set.

Jonathan Levine, who has previously directed Long Shot, will be taking over the director’s chair for Dirty Dancing and was earlier part of the project as a producer. The movie is all set to go into production later this year and will be ready for a 2024 release. Levine has hinted that the sequel will also include some of the music from the original movie, including the iconic song, ‘(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life’.
