The much-awaited sequel to Netflix’s controversial hit 365 Days finally has a release date and a trailer. The movie will premiere on the streaming platform on April 27th and will star Michele Morrone and Anna-Maria Sieklucka, along with a new addition to the cast, Simone Susinna.

The sequel, titled 365 Days: This Day, will pick up after the first movie’s cliffhanger ending that left fans wondering about Laura’s fate and the couple’s future.

The trailer shows Laura and her Sicilian mafia boss fiance (also, her former kidnapper), Massimo, getting married surrounded by loved ones. But trouble enters their paradise when Massimo finds it difficult to balance family and his business and Laura starts to gravitate towards mysterious newcomer Nacho.

The first part followed Massimo as he kidnaps Laura, who is on a holiday with her friend, to force her into falling in love with him. Spoiler alert, the super-rich mafia boss manages to somehow woo the lady and they have their happy ending (of sorts).

The first movie in the series was hailed as a much steamier twin to 50 Shades Of Grey but came under fire for its romanticization of kidnapping and sexual violence, and also completely ruining the term ‘baby girl’ forever. Despite the harsh, and valid, criticism, the movie went on to become one of the biggest hits on the platform. The author of the book the movie is based on, Blanka Lipinska, revealed that the sequel will sow a much stronger version of Laura and will delve deeper into the relationship between the couple, hinting that the sequel will address the critique delivered for the first part.

Along with the rest of the world, the movie gained massive popularity in India as well. So much so that lead actor Morrone was featured in a music video along with Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez, much to fans’ excitement. The video racked up millions of views instantly.

So, are you excited about 365 Days’ sequel?
