Akshay ‘Khiladi’ Kumar is known as one of the fittest actors in Bollywood and it is only for all the right reasons. The Sooryavanshi actor has always advocated for healthy living and clean eating and actively speaks about his fitness routine featuring all kinds of exercises including Yoga and Karate.

Kumar is one of the biggest superstars in India today, and perhaps the only actor in Bollywood to have four back-to-back commercial releases on a yearly basis. Considering how hectic his schedule is, it’s astonishing how he manages to remain so disciplined without compromising on his fitness.

The superstar has a strong work ethic that he adheres to at all times—be it rising at dawn and wrapping up shoots before bed time or eating clean, exercising every day and making meditation a ritual. As committed as he is to his work, he’s twice as serious about his health, and it definitely shows.

Kumar believes that food is the most important determinant of good health and eating clean can cure most diseases and weight-related issues. He enjoys home-cooked meals the most, especially those that incorporate the goodness of Ayurvedic ingredients such as turmeric and black pepper.

Instead of binging on junk food, the actor carries a container full of nuts and dry fruits wherever he goes and snacks on them in between meals. They’re not only a wonderful source of nutrients, but also alleviate cravings and keep him full for most of the day. If he has nothing on him when he’s hungry, the star eats a few bananas as they’re fibrous, nutritious and easily accessible.

The Hera Pheri actor also revealed the contents of his ‘dabba’ or tiffin a couple of years ago after he was nominated by his wife Twinkle Khanna on Instagram for their ‘What’s In Your Dabba’ challenge—an initiative that was all about ‘eating clean’. The stars also revealed the recipes of their healthy treats and further nominated celebrities to share their stories. While Twinkle had yummy beetroot tikkis, Kumar shared his avocado on toast and chia pudding recipe.

Captioning the post, he said, “Thank you @twinklerkhanna for nominating me. Eating clean is not an option but a way of life for me. Here’s a glimpse at what made me spring into action this morning.

He even went on to share the recipe and wrote, “Sharing how you can also make my favourite avocado on toast and my chia pudding. It’s healthy, tasty, and keeps you full for hours, not to mention high in protein.”


Toasted Barley Bread or any Multigrain Bread

1 ripe Avocado

Olive Oil

Rapeseed Oil

Himalayan Pink Salt

Chaat Masala

Pomegranate Seeds


  1. Use toasted barley bread or any multigrain bread to make the toast.
  2. Start with mashing a ripe avocado in a bowl.
  3. Add Olive oil and Rapeseed oil to the ripe mashed avocado.
  4. Sprinkle a pinch of Himalayan Pink Salt and chaat masala on the mixture.
  5. Mix together and spread the mashed avocado on the bread slices.
  6. Garnish the toast with pomegranate seeds and enjoy!
