If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to live in Westeros, from Game of Thrones, and be amongst the twisted noblemen and women, then why? The place is an objective nightmare and everyone is the worst. Why would you want to live there?

But if you’ve made up your mind to live as if you’re in a medieval land where dragons exist, then you can get one step closer to your one true dream.

Seven Kingdom Cellars, a division of California-based winery Vintage Wine Estates, has released a trio of red wines inspired by the new Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon.

The three wines include, “The king of wine varietals, Cabernet Sauvignon, the winemaking art of a Red blend, and a seductive Pinot Noir,” according to the official website.

The brand has called upon the expertise of different winemakers for the varietals and growing regions to create wines representing each appellation.

The 2021 Pinot Noir is an Oregon signature varietal made by winemaker David O’Reilly. It’s a garnet-coloured wine with tart red cherry and cranberry aromatics followed by subtle and earthy notes. The 2019 California Cabernet Sauvignon is the work of winemaker Nancy Walker. She has created a blend that’s rich and complex with dense flavours, enhanced by being aged for three months in ex-bourbon barrels.

Lastly, the 2020 Red Wine had winemaker Tami McKay lean on classics. It’s dark in colour and rich and sweet in flavour with the aromas of cocoa, cranberry, and black currant.

You can order yourself a bottle, or three, from the brand’s website directly, in case you want to stock up some for your next House of the Dragon viewing party. Or for you to drink alone on your couch as you fervently wish to be transported to the world of the Targaryens and their dragons. You do you.
