While Michael Scott’s “That’s what she said”s and Dwight’s survivalist skills are at the top of the list of things The Office fans loved about the show, Kevin Malone’s family recipe of chili is right up there with them.

If you recall, in the 26th episode of the fifth season, the accounts department’s least productive member brought a huge pot of chili to the office only to spill it all over the carpeted floor in a hilarious series of accidents.

“It’s a recipe passed down from Malones for generations,” says Malone in the episode, “It’s probably the thing I do best.”

Turns out, Malone’s chili recipe is finally attainable! Brian Baumgartner, who plays Malone on the hit comedy series, is releasing a chili cookbook this September.

Baumgartner’s Seriously Good Chili Cookbook is going to feature 177 chili recipes sourced from different regions, with contributions from renowned chefs, restaurant owners, food influencers, and TV celebrities. This would also, of course, include his secret chili recipe too.

According to the actor, the final recipe that has been included in the book has gone through a “bit of trial and error” to be absolutely perfect. Now whether it’s meant to be enjoyed straight from the carpeted floor or not is yet to be seen.

There’s something for everyone in the diverse collection of chili (and chili-related) recipes featured in the book, including Texas chili, chili verde, vegetarian chili, chili dogs, and nachos.

Each recipe is accompanied by a fun chili fact and QR codes that can be scanned for step-by-step video tutorials of the recipe and the process.

The book also contains another treat for The Office fans. Oscar Nunez, who played the role of Malone’s fellow accountant Oscar Martinez in the series, has written a special foreword for the cookbook.

Seriously Good Chili Cookbook by Briam Baumgartner will officially release on September 13, 2022.
