And in this week’s ‘Most Trending Recipe’, TikTokers have given us Cowboy Caviar, a golden dip recipe. First created in the early 1900s by Chef Helen Corbitt, this dip made a spectacular comeback when TikTok Chef Trazia Rae (@traziarae) shared a video of her preparing the dip. As a result, with over 6.7 million views, she’s prompted a whole new wave of foodies to recreate this healthy snack. Rich in colourful veggies, the Cowboy Caviar a.k.a the summer salad, can be enjoyed with nachos and can also be used as a sandwich filling.

So, without wasting any more time, here is how you can make the Cowboy Caviar at home.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Purple Onion (Diced)
  • 1 Tomato (Diced)
  • 1 Yellow Bell Pepper (Diced)
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper (Diced)
  • 1 Jalapeño (Chopped)
  • 1 Lime
  • 1 Can Of Corn
  • 1 Can Of Black-Eyes Peas
  • 1 Can Of Black Beans (Drained And Rinsed)
  • ½ Cup Of Olive Oil
  • ¼ Cup Of Apple Cider
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • Garlic Powder
  • Chilli Powder
  • Cumin
  • Aleppo Pepper
  • Salt And Pepper
  • Avocado (Optional)

Instructions:

Step 1: Take all your chopped and washed veggies and toss them in a large bowl. Then add corn, black-eyed peas, black beans, onions, tomatos, and peppers.

Step 2: Then, pour olive oil, apple cider vinegar, and lime juice, and mix them well.

Step 3: Finally, add sugar, garlic powder, chilli powder, and cumin with some pepper and salt according to taste. Mix everything one final time and you are good to go.

Pro Tip: You can store this dip for almost four to five days in the refrigerator, but if you add avocados, make sure to consume it within 2-3 days since the fruit can turn brown and get spoiled.
