Cuisines from different parts of the world are now coming into the spotlight, with more and more people taking over the kitchen. One such trending meal that caught our eye (and our appetite) is the salmon rice bowl.
Introduced by Emily Mariko, this six-ingredient dish is popular for being made out of leftovers; but the key ingredient is the Kewpie mayo, a super-yummy Japanese mayo made out of egg yolks.
Salmon Rice Bowl Recipe
This dish is super easy to make and works great for all the times you crave a quick meal. A well-balanced healthy meal that will leave you wanting more, here is how you can make the salmon rice bowl with minimal effort. Enjoy!
- White Rice
- Cooked Salmon Fillet
- Soy Sauce
- Kewpie Mayo
- Roasted Seaweed
- Avocado (optional)
- Kimchi (optional)
Step 1: To start off, shred a piece of cooked salmon fillet into tiny pieces and spread it across the plate.
Step 2: Then, add a cup of cooked rice on top of the salmon.
Pro Tip: If you are using leftover rice for this dish, add a small piece of ice and place it on top of the rice. Then, take a parchment paper sheet and place it on top of the rice, giving it a slight squeeze, and put it in the microwave and heat it for a few seconds. Once done, you can throw away the paper and ice cube. This will help heat up your rice while retaining its moisture leaving it feeling soft and steamed.
Step 3: Drizzle a bit of soy sauce, sriracha, and kewpie mayo. Mix all of the ingredients together.
Step 4: Top it off with half an avocado and a spoon of Kimchi to bring in more flavour.
Step 5: And finally, take a bit of the mixed rice, wrap a piece of roasted seaweed around it and enjoy!
