Golden Globes 2023 have been mired in controversy over the lack of racial diversity in the Hollywood Foreign Press and corruption charges. Last year, the ceremony was not held with its usual pomp and fair but it’s back with a few improvements this year and this means that we get to see the best of red carpet fashion too!
Gucci reigned supreme with celebrities like Salma Hayek, Jenna Ortega, Michelle Williams, and Daisy Edgar Jones wearing the label. Designer Christian Siriano’s creations, characteristically, stood out out of the pack and made sure celebrities like Billy Porter, Nicole Byers, and Quinta Brunson looked like a million bucks on the red carpet.
India was represented with RRR being nominated for two awards and the lead cast and crew were present on the red carpet. Jr NTR looked dapper in a Ralph Lauren tux while co-actor Ram Charan and director SS Rajamouli chose traditional Indian clothes for the event.
Emma D’Arcy was easily one of the best dressed of the night with their Acne Studios suit with a skirt on top and purple gloves and hair to add that edge to the look. Hillary Swank and Kaley Cuoco debuted their baby bumps on the red carpet and looked resplendent in Prada and Vera Wang resepctively. Porter resurrected his tuxedo gown from two years ago with a fuschia iteration of the same.
While the Pose star is known to ditch the boring black and white tux routine for menswear on the red carpet, celebrities like Seth Rogen and Andrew Garfield opted for coloured suits. Rogen chose a pink Dior tux, while Garfield wore a burnt orange Zegna suit. Abbott Elementary’s Tyler James Williams wore a dual toned blue Amiri suit.
Best Actress winner Michelle Yeoh dazzled in a sequined Armani peplum gown, while Anya Taylor-Joy kept it sleek and timeless in a yellow Dior gown.
