Designers Falguni and Shane Peacock chat with HELLO! about their inspirations, the trends they see ahead, their experience hanging out at the White House with POTUS and Priyanka Chopra, and so much more…

HELLO!: Which was your most favourite moment at the HELLO! Hall of Fame Awards?

Falguni Peacock: “My favourite moment was watching Madhuri Dixit Nene up on stage, accepting her award so graciously. She’s truly beautiful inside and out!”

Shane Peacock: “I loved the energy Anil Kapoor brought into the room! He hasn’t aged a day, neither in his looks nor his energy! It was such a joy to see him at HHOF.”

H!: Each of your creations continues to be jaw-dropping. What constantly inspires perfection?

SP: “We have a great team that puts in immense effort to make true every goal and vision of the brand. Each day, when we go to the office, we come together as a team and work towards creating something that’s never been seen before, to the point of perfection. Working with a team like this inspires us to believe that the sky’s the limit!”

H!: Please define your personal styles.

FP: “I like to keep it chic and classic. I balance timeless pieces with contemporary ones. I like to bring my jewellery and accessories to play and create looks that are elegant yet simple.”

SP: “It’s simple, clean and fuss-free. I stick to the neutral palette, black being the dominant colour. I’ve been experimenting with some colours lately and enjoying the fresh change.”

H!: What trends do you foresee in Indian fashion?

FP: “This year will see street-luxe fashion rise as a game- changing trend. We’ll also see a lot of oversized clothing such as jackets and shirts and logo-laden outfits become a big hit. Fashion enthusiasts will make room for baggy outfits and flaunt their love for their favourite brands by sporting their monograms and logos — right from sunglasses to shoes!”

H!: What do you envision for the future of your brand?

SP: “We see our brand scale up and expand its footprint all over India and internationally this year. We’ve reopened our New York office, and there’s a lot of exciting developments we’re working on currently.”

H!: What advice do you have for young designers aiming to conquer a spot in the fashion industry?

FP: “Be original and authentic. There’s nothing better than being one-of-a-kind. It’s essential to discover your own aesthetic and language. Also, chase good work, not money!”

H!: Could you share some highlights of the past year?

FP: “There were a number of special milestone moments... Earlier last year, we were conferred the NRI Shiromani Award, but the special part was that we got to be at the House of Lords and deliver a speech. It was surreal to be in a room full of dignitaries from all walks of life and tell them about India and fashion. We were also invited to the White House for the official Diwali celebration. It was a proud moment to be present in a room with the US president. And, of course, dressing a host of celebrities like Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Mindy Kaling were among other highlights.”

H!: What are you most excited for this year?

SP: “Professionally, it’s the expansion of our brand and our product line that’s keeping us on our toes! On the personal front, since early 2023, we’ve travelled a lot and wish to do so for the rest of the year and beyond. We’d also like to tick off some adventure activities we’ve been meaning to try for a while. Recently, we attempted to ski in Courchevel, which has made us want to try more such adrenaline-rushing activities!”
