The Gangubai Kathiawadi actress glided onto the prestigious red carpet in a stunning white gown with a billowing sheer train, adorned with hundreds and thousands of pearls.
Bhatt’s look paid homage to Karl Lagerfeld, the problematic icon who was being celebrated at this year’s Met Gala. To keep in line with the theme of the night, ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line In Beauty’, Bhatt chose a white gown by Nepalese-American designer Prabal Gurung which emulated the Chanel bridal look perfectly, with Lagerfeld’s signature pearls adding to the romanticness of her ensemble.
Bhatt kept her accessories simple, all custom-made by homegrown brand Outhouse. She chose a pair of stunning earrings and had her hair pulled back with a pearl clasp. She gave another nod to Lagerfeld by choosing to wear one single fingerless glove, a favourite accessory of the late designer.
Bhatt took to Instagram to share the gorgeous look and wrote, “A girl can never have too many pearls… and the right accessories to complement the look which in our case translated to the bow of pearls on my hair. Oh, and it’s white, for my Choup-ED,” referring to Lagerfeld’s iconic cat Choupette and her own pet feline, Edward.
While the actress has established her supremacy in Bollywood, she is taking her first steps into international stardom. Bhatt is starring opposite Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan in the upcoming Netflix spy film Heart of Stone.
