The faint tremors that you might have been feeling these past few days could very well have been of fashion enthusiasts all around the country collectively quaking in excitement as we inched closer to Dior’s showcase in Mumbai. The highly-anticipated night is here and the show, as expected, didn’t disappoint.

Dior and India have shared a rich history together and this is why it wasn’t really a surprise when it was announced that the showcase would be held in the bustling Indian city with the iconic Gateway of India as a backdrop.

The collection has been crafted in collaboration with the Mumbai-based atelier Chankaya School of Craft, led by the talented Karishma Swali.

The pre-fall 2023 ready-to-wear showcase saw models walking down the runway flanked by stunningly intricate floral installations by Delhi-based flower company Kalikaar Designs.

The collection was an ode to the vibrancy and rich cultural heritage of India with the classic Dior twist by Maria Grazia Chiuri.

“This was an iconic show since it is the first time that Dior has done a show in India and the collection is totally inspired by India brought to life with the colours and the embroidery done by the Chanakya School of Craft,” said Ruchika Mehta, Editor in Chief HELLO! India, “The Gateway of India served as the perfect and ultimate backdrop for this show. A truly historic day for Indian fashion and a proud moment for India and the fashion industry.”

One of the hottest fashion events of the year would be remiss without a star-studded guest list.

The show saw celebrities like supermodels Cara Delevingne, Karlie Kloss, Bridgerton star Simone Ashley, social media celebrity Bryan Yambao, Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams, Poorna Jagannath, and Frieda Pinto in attendance.

Popular Thai BL stars Phakphum Romsaithong (also known as Mile) and Nattawin Wattanagitiphat (also known as Apo) also flew down to attend the historic show.

The KinnPorsche stars were given a roaring welcome at the Mumbai airport, with fans queuing up to get a glimpse of their favourite stars.

Legendary icon Rekha, resplendent in her signature sari, was also present at the show.

Sonam Kapoor was a sight to behold in an all-pink Dior ensemble paired with Indian jewellery.

Bollywood It couple Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma looked like a million bucks in head-to-toe Dior ensembles paired with their innate charm.

Other A-list celebrities in attendance were Ananya Panday, Athiya Shetty, Arjun Kapoor, Masaba Gupta, Shweta Bachchan, Natasha Poonawalla, Khushi Kapoor, and Mira Rajput to name a few!
