The recently-held British Academy of Film and Television Awards (BAFTA) in London saw an impressive celebrity turnout which meant that our feeds were populated with red-carpet looks from the event.
Amongst the many impressive looks, the one that stood out (for all the right reasons) was the Princess of Wales’, AKA Kate Middleton.
The royal wore a bridal white, one-shoulder, Alexander McQueen gown paired with elbow-length black gloves and cascading floral earrings.
What made the look special was the fact that she had previously worn the look at the 2019 BAFTAs and had the dress tweaked to be fitted with a cape sleeve for this year’s red carpet appearance.
This is not the first time she has repeated outfits for her public appearances. The Internet is flooded with lists of all the times (there have been at least 82) the royal has repeated looks out in public. Middleton makes another solid case for sustainability in fashion by wearing an old gown for a major event that would have the eyes of the world on her.
Aside from the fact that she showed that she’s just like us, when it comes to repurposing old and expensive formal wear for multiple events, the royal eschewed expensive jewels in favour of INR 1900 earrings from Zara (which you can get right here) to complete her look.
What do you think of Middleton’s BAFTA 2023 look?
