Katrina Kaif has joined the likes of Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt to become a champion of the pre-loved fashion movement. Pre-loved and thrifted fashion has slowly and steadily risen to a point where the global secondhand market is projected to reach $77 billion in the next few years.

The trend has been a positive offshoot of the sustainable fashion movement where old, but well-preserved, fashion is being recycled instead of discarded in favour of newer trends.

Internationally, celebrities like Kylie Jenner, Mariah Carey, and Jennifer Lopez have jumped on the pre-loved clothes trend, by selecting clothes from their own wardrobe to sell for a good cause. Closer to home, celebrities like Padukone, Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, and Athiya Shetty have shared beloved items from their closet with the world.

Now Kaif has partnered with global pre-loved fashion platform Saritoria to share hand-picked outfits from her wardrobe in a bid to promote sustainable fashion.

“It gives me immense pleasure to join the prelove fashion revolution. We all need to do our part as responsible citizens of the world and share practices that are environmentally friendly. By selling pieces from my wardrobe on Saritoria I am giving them a new life and increasing their longevity. I hope all fashion lovers join in this new way of shopping,” said Kaif, on handpicking the pieces from her closet to go on the platform’s newly launched mobile application.

The Phone Bhoot actress is bringing out the big guns from her classically stylish wardrobe and putting up outfits from designers like Alexander McQueen, Victoria Beckham, Jacquemus, Saint Laurent, and Balmain on the platform.

Aside from doing the environment a solid by investing in pre-loved fashion, you can also shop from Kaif’s wardrobe to support educating the lesser privileged. According to the platform, the proceeds of the sale from the actress’ wardrobe will go towards Mountain View School in Madurai, which has been founded by and is run by her mother.
