BTS member Jimin has been appointed as Dior’s newest Global Ambassador. The singer-songwriter-dancer joins the likes of fellow K-pop artists Blackpink’s Jisoo, EXO’s Sehun, and Astro’s Cha Eunwoo to become the face of the French luxury fashion house.

The multi-hyphenate artist is one of the seven members of one of the biggest bands in the world and has partnered with big brands like Samsung, Hyundai, and McDonald’s as their brand ambassadors before. The septet also had an exclusive partnership with Louis Vuitton since April 2021 but it has now expired.

“The singer, dancer and songwriter Jimin of 21st Century pop icon BTS is now a Dior global ambassador. This special bond seals, more than ever, his friendship with the house and Kim Jones, who had designed, in 2019, the stage outfits of his band BTS. The South Korean artist new embodies the spirit and singularity of Dior style modernity with a timeless signature,” read a statement from Dior.

The group members have been exploring solo activities ever since they announced their temporary hiatus from group activities last June. Following that announcement, the members also revealed that they would be completing their mandatory military service, with Jin becoming the first member to enlist. While any date hasn’t been officially confirmed, all group members are going to complete their service by 2025 and possibly reunite for a tour and an album.
