Harry Styles—whose record-breaking track ‘As It Was’ was recently crowned as the most streamed song of the year, both globally and in America, in the 2022 edition of Spotify Wrapped—isn’t afraid to have fun and experiment with his fashion choices, which we absolutely love!
In recent years, amidst his musical domination, the former One Direction member has metamorphosed from boyband member to a mature musician (and actor), and is making waves in the fashion industry. With a flare for wild, whimsical and androgynous style, and with help from his talented stylist Harry Lambert, Styles has seriously lived up to his surname for years on end.
It’s no surprise that all the world’s greatest designers want to dress the talented artist. The pop star knows the very definition of style and tends to design his wardrobe around a bunch of basics while elevating them with funky accessories and embellishments. From velvet double-breasted suits and pastel-coloured flares to OTT feathers and ruffled shirts, his outfits never fail to inspire.
And, as 2022 is nearing its end, we’re taking a look at some of his most memorable and fun looks that have earned him the status of a global style icon.
At The Premier Of My Policeman
Arriving in ‘style’ at the red carpet premiere of his film My Policeman during the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2022, the singer donned a head-to-toe green custom Gucci ensemble. He opted to go shirtless under his double-breasted emerald suit jacket, which was embellished with a matching oversized floral pin. The singer tied in the look together with lime green trousers, cream shoes and a green bag from the Gucci Bamboo 1947 collection.
At The Premier Of Don’t Worry Darling
The star attended the premiere of another one of his films, Don’t Worry Darling, at the 79th Venice International Film Festival in Italy in September 2022 in a custom Gucci suit paired with a whimsical shirt featuring a long pointed collar. He finished off the look with plain white shoes and loads of finger rings.
At The Photocall For Don’t Worry Darling
This look was thrown together using pieces from the Gucci HA HA HA collection that he collaborated on with the brand’s then creative director, Alessandro Michele. It featured a double-breasted, cream, pinstriped jacket and a blue scarf layered over a white tank top. He wore all this with navy blue bell bottom trousers for his Don’t Worry Darling photocall, again, during the 79th Venice International Film Festival in Italy in September 2022.
At The Summertime Ball At Wembley Stadium
Next, the ‘Night Changes’ hitmaker danced the night away while performing at Capital’s Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium in London in June 2022 sporting a cool black-and-white jumpsuit by Spanish brand Palomo. He paired the outfit with comfy sneakers and a simple locket around his neck.
At The Radio One Concert In Coventry
One of our favourite looks, Styles shined at Radio 1’s Big Weekend concert in Coventry, England, in May 2022, in a tattoo-baring purple sequined jumpsuit, which the crowds went crazy over.
At The Celebration Of His Album Release In New York
The pop crooner slipped into his casual best with a pair of classic blue jeans and a white T-shirt with S.S. Daley’s ‘Harry’ Jasper duck cardigan in a hazelnut and tan yellow colour palette. The ensemble was made “specifically for Harry by personal request,” as per designer Steven Stokey Daley. Styles wore this outfit to celebrate the release of his album Harry’s Home at a Spotify event in New York City in May 2022. The singer-actor accessorised with a blue beaded necklace by éliou.
On The Howard Stern Show
The ‘Watermelon Sugar’ singer looked like a snack in a strawberry-print, fitted round-neck T-shirt, neon green trousers and a matching green beaded necklace while visiting SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show studios in New York City in May 2022. The rich, whimsical grandma vibe he exuded in this outfit was unmatched.
On NBC’s Today Show In Rockerfeller Plaza
Next, the singer wore a custom neon-striped jumpsuit by JW Anderson that made him look like a juicy piece of gum (or a very chic jail inmate) while performing on NBC’s Today show at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City in May 2022.
At Coachella In April
In this iconic look, Styles chose to show off his sexy tattoos as he hit the main stage during the first weekend of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California, in April 2022. The dazzling, sequined custom Gucci jumpsuit was covered in light-reflecting rainbow paillettes as the singer danced up a storm while performing. The shimmering rainbow paillette one-piece look was designed exclusively for him by Gucci’s Alessandro Michele.
At Coachella In April For Week Two
This avant-garde custom Gucci ensemble won everyone’s hearts as Styles set the stage on fire at Coachella week 2. He wore a pink-and-silver vest embellished with sequined strawberries on the front and cherries on the back, trousers with a glittery ‘H’ and an ‘S’ on his backside and a matching fruit-buckled belt, paired with silver boots. Later, he tried another variation of this eye-catching cowboy look by layering the vest with a giant pink-and-white feather coat on the main stage.
