Fashion trends are meant to be followed, not understood. We’re not sure who said it, but they probably went through Kylie Jenner’s Instagram feed before saying these words.
Whether it’s naked bikinis or Muppet-chic fashion, Jenner is always ahead of the trend.
This time around, the beauty mogul is attempting to popularise one of Fall/Winter’s most contentious trends, the ‘Puddle Pants’.
A descendant of the baggy jeans from the late 90s and early 2000s, the Puddle Pant is a floor-grazing pair of bottoms that pool around the ankles. It was spotted on the runways of designers like Balenciaga, Peter Do, and R13.
Jenner chose to wear hers out and about on a girls’ trip to New York City with her sister Kendall Jenner.
The reality superstar paired her floor-length denim jeans with a cropped button-up shirt, an oversized coat, and wraparound sunglasses. Jenner switched between two footwear for the look, a pair of pointy-toed pumps and chunky Prada loafers.
She joins the ranks of celebrities like Bella Hadid and Angelina Jolie who have recently showcased their own love for the confounding trend.
While Jenner looked unbothered about dragging her jeans’ bottom through the muddy and definitely not-sanitary Manhattan streets, you can cop the trend in a non-messy way by pairing them with platform sneakers or chunkier heels.
