Aside from serving life inspiration by being a general bada*s, Neena Gupta is also low-key a source of style inspiration. Top-notch style sense clearly runs in the family as the actress’ daughter Masaba is one of the country’s top designers and a style icon in her own right.

The Badhaai Ho actress has been turning up her style quotient to an eleven on the promotional run for her movie Uunchai.

During a recent screening of the film, Gupta was seen wearing a limited-edition sari from the House of Masaba.

In true Neena Gupta style, the sari was anything but conventional. The strappy halter neck blouse came with an ‘arm warmer’, a bolero-esque layer that covered her shoulders and is “light as a feather”, according to the designer. The blouse was paired with an understated Cotton Chanderi Sportee sari from the label.

The blouse is perfect for evening dos and weddings that take place in the sweet spot between balmy late summer and bone-chilling winter.

But this is not the first time that Gupta has given us the inspiration to ditch the boring old blouse styles in favour of bolder options.

The actress looked like a million bucks in a halter-neck blouse that she paired with statement chandbali earrings. If you’re not one for danglers, go for a choker to highlight your neck and pair it with smaller hoops or studs.

If you’ve been on the fence about going for a blouse with a plunging neckline, take this as a sign from Gupta to take the plunge (see what we did there?). You can go the actress’ way and pair yours with a statement necklace or opt for a swept-up hairdo and dramatic earrings to highlight the bold style. There are no wrong answers.

Gupta’s draped turtle neck blouse is the perfect way to stand out from the crowd without going over the top. The actress kept her hair down and natural and added a pair of earrings to complete the look. You can highlight the unconventional neckline by pulling your hair back in a sleek bun and going for statement studs for the ears and skip the neckpiece.

A classic strappy blouse is a must-have for your wedding wardrobe, as demonstrated by Gupta. It’s perfect for a day ceremony or a pre-wedding soirée. The actress keeps it simple by pairing her beautiful silk organza sari and complimentary strappy blouse with minimal accessories. Since the style is versatile, you can style and accessorise in a number of ways depending on the occasion.
