Celebrity stylist-turned-designer Esha Amiin loves travelling to exotic locations. One quick scroll down her Instagram feed is enough to back the fact.

It is, therefore, not much of a surprise that her upcoming showcase at Lakmé Fashion Week reflects that.

Her collection ‘Afro Rhapsody’ promises to be a riot of colours, bold prints, and fun silhouettes. “I have always loved vibrant prints and the forte of my brand is to play with striking bold prints, and explore innovative fabric manipulation and textures,” says Amiin.

When asked about what it is that attracts her towards bold prints, she says, “There is something about prints that is so effortless that you don’t have to work too hard to stand out!” Fair enough.

Amiin confirms that this collection is an extension of her love for all things travel and it serves as a major inspiration for her collections. “I find people and cultures very interesting and inspiring. From my experiences around the world, I build my mood board, and create my prints and silhouettes.”

The designer acknowledges that bold prints might not be everyone’s cup of tea but insists that everyone should at least include it in some form in their wardrobe as it is “super fun”.

“Learning how to mix and match prints is a tricky business if you don’t know how to do it right,” she says, “When in doubt, team up a solid piece with a print.”

The designer whose clientele includes celebrities like Janhvi Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor predicts bold and vibrant prints will be a major trend in the upcoming seasons.

So take cue from Amiin and adopt the print life fearlessly!
