It’s all about the early aughts when it comes to the hottest trends in fashion or accessories this season. Bella Hadid has been an early adopter of the trend and has continued to be a steadfast supporter of all things Y2K. From lowrise jeans to halter tops, the supermodel regularly serves as inspiration for anyone who wants to give the trend a go.

Case in point is her recent appearance at a brand launch event in West Hollywood where she managed to take us on a nostalgic trip down memory with her pick of a silky halter neck handkerchief dress.

In case you need a refresher, the beloved handkerchief dress from the early 2000s is characterised by its asymmetrical hem. Hadid, however, gave this throwback trend a modern makeover with a corset-style bodice.

She paired it with strappy black heeled sandals and statement medallion earrings. With her hair up in a sleek ponytail with curtain bangs in the front, Hadid kept her makeup in theme with the bright pink of her dress, and left it dewy and natural, save for her glossy pink lips. She also added a pink rhinestone butterfly tattoo on her arm as a nod to the botanical theme of the night and also because nothing screams Y2K than rhinestone tattoos.

Would you take cue from Hadid and revisit this iconic trend this season?
