In a TikTok video capturing the moment, the acclaimed Aquaman star can be seen engaging with reporters outside her new residence in Madrid, where she has apparently settled down with her delightful two-year-old daughter, Oonagh Paige.

Curiosity sparked as the cameraman questioned Heard about her experience in her new Spanish life. Responding in fluent Spanish, she expressed her adoration for the country, exclaiming, “I love Spain, so much.”

When asked about her plans to stay in the vibrant Spanish capital, the 3 Days To Kill actress enthusiastically replied, “Yes, I hope so. Yes, yes, I love living here.”

Waving a cheerful “ciao” to the reporters, the Texas-born actress couldn’t resist hinting at some exciting future endeavours. She mentioned having “film projects” in the pipeline, leaving her loyal fans eagerly anticipating her return to the big screen.

The cameraman couldn’t resist probing further, inquiring whether she would be gracing the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, where her ex-husband Johnny Depp recently made his highly-anticipated red carpet comeback. Heard simply stated, “I move on. That’s life.”

Reports of Heard’s relocation to Spain with her young daughter emerged after she embarked on a European adventure back in September 2022, a mere three months after Depp emerged victorious in their defamation trial on June 1.

Photographed enjoying a blissful vacation in Palma de Mallorca with little Oonagh, Heard has since been spotted engaging in play dates across Spain. Initially, rumours circulated that the talented Justice League actress had permanently bid farewell to Hollywood, as per reports. However, it appears that she still holds onto her passion for the silver screen, defying the speculations.

According to insiders, Heard is flourishing in her new life in Spain, where she is bilingual in Spanish and revels in the privacy it affords her and her daughter away from the media frenzy. The source revealed that although Heard is in no rush to return to work or Hollywood, she remains open to the right project when the timing aligns perfectly. After the emotionally taxing trial, the actress sought solace outside her home country, yearning for a fresh start. The source emphasised her excitement about diving back into work and filming, as she is now focused on pursuing her passions.

What was the legal battle about?

The legal battle between Heard and her ex-husband Depp stemmed from a $50 million lawsuit the latter filed in response to a 2018 op-ed she penned in the Washington Post, insinuating her experience as a victim of domestic abuse without directly mentioning Depp’s name.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor contended that the allegations had tarnished his reputation and hindered his career prospects. In June 2022, the jury ruled in Depp’s favour, determining that Heard had defamed him on all three counts and awarding him $10 million in compensatory damages, along with $5 million in punitive damages. Conversely, Heard received $2 million in compensatory damages.

Subsequently, Heard filed an appeal challenging the court’s decision, citing perceived errors. However, in December of the same year, she made the difficult choice to withdraw the appeal after careful deliberation, opting for a settlement with Depp.

Meanwhile, Depp made a comeback to the limelight at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in May this year. The festival served as a platform for him to unveil his latest French-language film, Jeanne du Barry, marking his triumphant return to a leading role following his legal victory in the defamation case against his ex-wife. He even received a standing ovation that lasted nearly seven minutes.

However, amidst the excitement surrounding Depp’s reappearance, fervent supporters of Heard took to social media to express their discontent. Launching an online campaign with the hashtag #CannesYouNot, they aimed to voice their criticism of both the festival and Depp’s prominent presence there. They accused the festival of effectively handing a free pass to an alleged domestic abuser. Their collective message sought to shed light on what they perceived as a slow reintegration of Depp into the Hollywood scene.

On the other hand, as Heard revels in her new life in Spain, she remains resilient and focused on her personal and professional aspirations. With her fluency in Spanish and a fresh perspective, she is determined to make her mark and win over her sceptical audiences once again.
