When Anushka Sharma is not busy making us weep with how sweet she and Virat Kohli are as a couple, she is busy making strides towards being a global superstar. The Pari actress is now going to make her big Cannes debut later this month.

The actress is all set to take over the French Riviera as she attends the 76th edition of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Reportedly, Sharma will be a part of an event honouring women in cinema, alongside actress Kate Winslet.

Her Cannes appearance was confirmed when she visited the French Ambassador to India, Emmanuel Lenin, and he shared the pictures on Twitter, saying, “A pleasure meeting @imVkohli and @AnushkaSharma! I wished Virat & #TeamIndia all the best for the upcoming tournaments, and discussed Anushka’s trip to #CannesFilmFestival. (sic)”

Sharma won’t be the first Indian to make big waves at the Film Festival. Deepika Padukone was invited to be a part of the jury last year and celebrities like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra are Cannes veterans now. There are going to be two Indian films screened at the festival, including Anurag Kashyap’s Kennedy and Kanu Behl’s Agra.

The 2023 Cannes Film Festival will commence from May 16 and go on till May 27.
