There’s a new drama brewing in the fashion world and it involves Law Roach, one of the most influential celebrity stylists around, and our very own global superstar Priyanka Chopra.
ICYMI, Roach announced his retirement from celebrity styling in a now-deleted post on Instagram. He had written, “Thank you to everyone who’ve supported me and my career over the years. Every person that trusted me with their image, I’m so grateful for you all. If this business was just about the clothes I would do it for the rest of my life but unfortunately it’s not! The politics, the lies and false narratives finally got me! You win…I’m out.”
Later, in an interview, he had clarified that he is not retiring from working in fashion, but from “being in service of other people”.
The stylist has been responsible for some of the most iconic looks of the past few years and had celebrities like Zendaya, Ariana Grande, and Hunter Schafer on his roster.
Needless to say, Internet sleuths jumped on the opportunity to figure out which celebrity could have caused Roach to announce his retirement like this.
This brought up old videos of Zendaya and Roach discussing seating during a fashion show where the actress was seated in the front row with no place left for the stylist. Before people could go down the road to dig up evdience of a beef between the two longterm collaborators, Roach clarified that Zendaya is going to be his friend forever.

This is when a recent video of Chopra talking about her struggles with someone who worked with her in the past came under the spotlight again.
In an interview at the South by Southwest Film Festival, Chopra had revealed that an individual had made her cry by telling her she’s not sample sized.
“I cried to my husband, and my team, and I felt really bad about the fact that I’m not sample size, and that’s a problem, apparently, and most of us are not,” said the actress.
If you’d recall, Roach has also been Chopra’s stylist and has given us some of her best styled looks.
Fans of the actress wasted no time before connecting the imaginary dots and coming to the conclusion that the man who made Chopra cry was Roach, despite her not naming him in her original quote.
The stylist sat down for an in-depth interview with The Cut about his decision and addressed Chopra’s comments. He admitted that he felt hurt when his name was dragged into the matter and denied ever making any such comment to her.
“It is her gatekeepers, how they presented what I said to her to make her feel that way,” he said, “I’m sure it was taken outta context to get her to be like, ‘Oh, okay, I’m not working with him no more. He’s insensitive to my body.’ Which I’m like, ‘How is that possible? I’ve been dressing you since pre-pandemic, and it’s been nothing but great things.’”
According to him, the fact that he is the person responsible for the clothes and how they’ll look on camera and on the red carpet sometimes gives people the wrong impression that he is critiquing how they look.
He emphasized that he loved working with the Quantico actress and was inspired by her energy.
“I love Priyanka. When you are around her, there’s only so many women in this industry that have that thing. I’m constantly inspired by women, and she has this thing that’s very Old Hollywood, Sophia Loren — it drives me crazy. She has a twinkle, she has a wiggle, and I love her, even as a person.”
The stylist also reminded everyone that he has worked with several celebritie sin the past who weren’t sample sized, like Lizzo, and it didn’t make sense for anyone to think he would body shame someone like this as their stylist.
