The leftover romance from seeing the gorgeous wedding photos of Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra has, perhaps, caused the Internet to see wedding bells everywhere. The victims of this celebrity wedding-induced fervour our the co-stars of the upcoming film Adipurush, Prabhas and Kriti Sanon.

Earlier this week, news of the two actors’ engagement ceremony in the Maldives started surfacing on Twitter, leading fans to go into a frenzy about the possible union between one of Telugu cinema’s biggest superstars and one of Bollywood’s top actresses at the moment.

Prabhas’ team were quick to shut down the rumours, stating the oft-repeated line “They’re just good friends”.

While Sanon has not directly addressed the rumours, she recently took to Instagram to share a possible response to the engagement news. The Mimi actress shared a reel featuring Oprah Winfrey on her Instagram Stories with the caption “Word”.

In the short clip, Winfrey can be heard saying, “Expecting people to do what you would do in a situation only leads to your disappointment, not theirs. They’re going on with their life. So let people be who they are and either you accept it, or you don’t. Not doing that keeps you stuck in a circumstance that actually costs you time, it costs you energy.”

Rumours of the two stars dating have been going around ever since the movie’s teaser was released. Her Bhediya co-star Varun Dhawan added fuel to the fire by hinting at them being possibly true in an interview.

On a show hosted by Karan Johar, Dhawan was asked to name “eligible single women from the Hindi film industry. He answered saying, “Kriti ka naam isiliye nahi tha kyunki Kriti ka naam kisi ke dil me hai. Ek aadmi hai jo Mumbai me nahi hai, vo iss waqt shooting kar raha hai Deepika (Padukone) ke saath. (Kriti’s name is not here because her name is in someone’s heart. That man is not in Mumbai because right now he is shooting with Deepika).” Prabhas is currently working on Project K with Padukone.

Sanon didn’t let Dhawan get away with his teasing remarks and clarified the rumours by writing on her Instagram Story, “It’s neither pyaar (love), nor PR.. our Bhediya just went a little too wild on a reality show. And his fun banter lead to some Howl-arious rumours (woman facepalming emoji). Before some portal announces my wedding date-let me burst your bubble. The rumours are ABSOLUTELY baseless! (sic).”

We don’t know whether Sanon is actually responding to the engagement rumours or not, butwe’re surely hooked!
