Sidharth & Kiara Make Their First Post-Wedding Appearance

On the night of February 7, the Indian internet broke when images from Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra’s wedding were finally released via their official Instagram handles. This came after weeks of speculations and alleged reports regarding the couple’s plans and minute wedding details. The newest it-couple in Bollywood seemed to have pulled off the ultimate secret wedding, with no leaks taking place or media access of any kind. However, this hasn’t stopped the paparazzi from rummaging through hints and getting their hands on every detail they can find.

Advani and Malhotra first met in 2018 at the wrap-up party of Lust Stories and have been “more than close friends” since then, as the actor revealed during her appearance on Koffee With Karan. From sun-kissed safari trips in South Africa to cosy getaways à deux against the sparkling turquoise of the Maldives, the lovebirds were caught painting the town red for months without revealing the status of their relationship.

By the time the promotions of Shershaah rolled around, the couple left little ambiguity about their feelings for each other, having mastered the art of slow-mo walking and broodingly gazing into each other’s eyes in the way that only lovers can.

As conclusion to this perfect fairytale love story, the duo’s wedding celebrations took place at the Suryagarh hotel in Jaisalmer from February 5 to 7. Both the bride and groom were dressed from head-to-toe in Manish Malhotra’s wedding couture, including the bride’s fine diamond jewellery.

And, thanks to the shutterbugs stationed at the Jaisalmer and Mumbai airports, we saw glimpses of the couple’s first appearance as newly weds, and we can’t get over Advani’s casual chic post-wedding aesthetic.

Many noticed the simple and delicate mangalsutra that she was wearing against her black outfit. The dainty piece of jewellery with black beads and a diamond pendant went well with the actress’ relaxed airport look. Like a true blue Punjabi bride, she also sported sindoor (vermillion) in her hair.

Advani was also wearing her potentially trend-setting pink chooda (bridal bangles) which were the highlight of her wedding photos as well. Red is usually the popular choice for the bangles but Advani chose pink to match her rose-toned outfit.

The pink bangles were adorned with diamonds much like the rest of her jewellery. While the bride’s jewellery, including her necklace, studs, maang tikka and the haathphhol were designed by Manish Malhotra, her kaleeras were customised by designer Mrinalini Chandra, who revealed that they symbolised Kiara and Sidharth’s love story.

The gorgeous couple hosted their three day wedding in Jaisalmer with the likes of Karan Johar, Shahid Kapoor, Mira Rajput, Juhi Chawla, Malaika Arora and a few other Bollywood celebrities in attendance.
