If you were listening carefully, you would have heard the collective gasp of K-drama fans worldwide when actor Song Joong-ki confirmed that he is in a relationship with a British woman.
The Vincenzo star’s agency HighZium Studio released a statement earlier today that confirmed the reports of the Korean actor being in a relationship with a British woman who is not a celebrity.
The two were spotted at an airport together earlier this month, but the actor had told the press that she was a staff member. Reportedly, he had introduced her as his girlfriend to his staff at a media conference in Singapore on 7th of December.

The statement from the company requested fans to be positive towards the relationship and to not support any unconfirmed rumour or news related to the couple.
“Actor Song Joong Ki is currently seeing a woman with positive feelings,” read the agency’s statement, “We hope that you will look warmly upon their relationship.”
The agency added, “We ask for your understanding in regards to the fact that we cannot confirm any information aside from the fact that they are dating, and we would be grateful if you refrained from publishing any speculative or unconfirmed reports.”

The so-far-unnamed British woman is not from a celebrity background and, according to sources, the couple met through mutual friends.
The actor was previously married to his Descendants of the Sun co-star Song Hye-ko before they got a divorce in 2019.
