In between being one-half of, inarguably, one of the most beautiful celebrity couples and making NBA stars dance to his tunes (literally), Ranveer Singh continues to deliver solid onscreen performances with his movies.

Not only is he the most popular celebrity in the country at the moment, he is also one of the best Bollywood actors of all time. This was proven when Singh was honoured with the Etoile d’or Award at the Marrakech International Film Festival recently.

The Padmaavat actor joined the ranks of Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Aamir Khan, in receiving the prestigious award.

The actor brought his infectious energy onstage at the festival’s opening ceremony by breaking into his characteristic high-energy dance. He even performed the rap from his movie Gully Boy.

On receiving the award, Singh said, “This is the darkest period. When I look at the world around me, I see all sorts of pain and suffering. I feel that in my capacity as an entertainer, the best thing I can do is lighten people’s burden.”

He took to Instagram to share images from his time at the festival, including him swooning over a picture of his wife Deepika Padukone on the red carpet, and wrote, “Cinema is a unifying force! I feel immensely honoured that my work has transcended cultural and geographical boundaries, and has earned me such love and recognition in beautiful Morocco. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude! Thank you to the Marrakech International Film Festival for bestowing me with the prestigious Etoile d’or Award! Proud to be an ambassador for my culture and represent Indian Cinema on the world stage!”

The actor looked resplendant in a red and gold sherwani as he received the award and, later, hung out with Hollywood biggies like Diane Kruger, Vanessa Kirby, and Marion Cottilard.

Here’s hoping we see him add more feathers to his already feather-laden cap!
