Jacki Shroff and Poonam Dhillon hosted a star-studded reunion in Mumbai with over 30 actors from the south Indian film industry and Bollywood stars in attendance. Iconic 80s actors including Meenakshi Sheshadri, Chiranjeevi, Anupam Kher, Anil Kapoor, Rajkumar, Sarathkumar, Baghyaraj, Venkatesh, Arjun and Tina Ambani, among others posed for a reunion photo at the bash, that is sure to go down in history.

From legendary Bollywood films like Mr. India and Chandni to timeless South Indian films like Nayakan and Magadheerudu, the 80s ushered in a glorious era for cinema with countless box office hits.

Along with the impressive screenplay and top-notch production, the talented actors of that time brought to life many iconic characters and kept the theatres bustling with crowds for months on end.

The stars from that era usually have a reunion every year to celebrate their friendship and camaraderie, and they were back this year for the first time after a two-year pandemic-induced hiatus. The last event, which was their 10th-year reunion, was hosted by the superstar Chiranjeevi in his fabulous Hyderabad home in 2019.

Nearly 40 stars from South India and Mumbai were seen attending the gala in Hyderabad that year. This year, the practice was revived and the 11th-year reunion took place in the city of dreams.

The other celebrities who were part of this ’80s reunion were Naresh, Vidya Balan, Raj Babbar, Bhanuchandar, Suhasini Maniratnam, Khushboo, Ramya Krishnan, Lissy, Poornima Baghyaraj, Radha, Ambika, Saritha, Sumalatha, Shobana, Revathy, Nadia and Madhoo.

Keeping the yearly tradition alive, this year’s event also had a colour theme. While the theme was silver and orange for female actors, it was grey and orange for the men.

As per reports, the venue itself was designed and decked up to follow a Maharashtrian theme and the spread on the table included speciality delicacies from the state. Poonam Dhillon and Jackie Shroff played the perfect hosts and entertained actors from all four of the southern states and the Hindi film industry. Oh to have been a fly on the wall at this epic party, right?!
