How Amitabh Bachchan’s Family Celebrated His 80th Birthday On Instagram

If fans would have it, legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan’s birthday would be a national holiday (or at least a bank holiday) to commemorate the superstar’s first day on planet Earth. This is why it wasn’t surprising that the actor received an outpouring of love and good vibes from his countless fans, colleagues, friends and family, both in real and ‘reel’ life, on the occasion of his milestone birthday.

Apart from important business, political and sports personalities extending their best wishes to the iconic face of Hindi cinema, family members including Shweta Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda shared some beautiful and unseen pictures of Big B to mark his 80th birthday on Instagram, and it’s giving us all the mushy feels.

Shweta captioned her post with the lyrics of Abida Parveen and Naseebo Lal’s song ‘Tu Jhoom’. Her post includes visuals of Amitabh Bachchan reading a holy scripture during a puja ceremony in one photo, and a few other dreamy black and white pictures from her childhood, as well as a museum-worthy still frame of a young Bachchan with his parents Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan.

Shweta Bachchan ended her sweet message with a note,“To my grand old man happy 80th birthday.”

Shweta’s daughter Naveli Nanda also shared a stunning monochrome picture from her childhood with her grandfather and captioned it with a few lines from another Harivansh Rai Bachchan poem. The budding activist and women’s health advocate wrote, “Tu na rukega kabhi, tu na mudega kabhi, kar shapath, kar shapath, kar shapath, Agnipath Agnipath Agnipath. There never has, and never will be anyone like you, happy birthday nana.”

Lastly, the most grand birthday surprise for Big B was painstakingly organised by his son on the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), and he even shared some snippets from the celebration in the form of a heartwarming reel on Instagram, sending their fans in a frenzy. The 80-year-old powerhouse doesn’t seem to tire even after conquering the film and television industry for a whopping 50 plus years, and his work ethic and zeal for life stands as a testament to that. No one is leaving behind a legacy quite like Bachchan’s.

The actor is currently filming the latest season of the mega popular quiz show KBC 14, and a birthday special episode, courtesy Abhishek and his wife Jaya Bachchan, is in store for us this week, with the mother-son duo crushing it on the hot seat. Featuring wholesome family moments, laughter and some surprising revelations, the emotional birthday episode promises to deliver fun moments as well as some tearjerkers.

Just a few days before reaching this milestone, Bachchan’s film Goodbye, co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, Neena Gupta, Elli Avram and Pavail Gulati, released in theatres and is panning out to be quite the success. Without showing any signs of stopping (seriously, we need to know the recipe to his secret energy potion!), Bachchan recently unveiled a visual from his upcoming project, Sooraj Barjatya’s Uunchai. He also has Project K with Prabhas and Deepika Padukone lined up.
