The Most Iconic Celebrity Guest Appearances In ‘Friends’

Friends is one of the most iconic shows of all time. It’s probably one of the few ’90s sitcoms that we can watch multiple times without getting bored. A show that truly brings us pure joy, Friends has given us some iconic pop culture moments too. Since its pilot was first telecasted in 1994, it still continues to be one of the mot watched shows (just check Netflix’s top recommendations).

But, as Ross, Rachel, Phoebe, Monica, Chandler, and Joey navigate their way through life, friendship, and love in the city of New York, they are often joined on set by some of the greatest actors in Hollywood.

So, we did a little digging and found some of the best celebrity appearances on Friends over the years.

Reese Witherspoon

Reese Witherspoon joins the cast of Friends in Season 6 as Rachel Green’s youngest sister, Jill whose quirky and bratty personality is still very popular among fans. While Rachel is more than happy to help Jill become independent and find herself, she isn’t very excited about the idea of her sister and Ross dating, much to Jill’s dismay.

Freddie Prinze Jr.

Playing the role of Rachel and Ross’ daughter Emma’s ‘Manny’ in Season 9 in the episode, ‘The One With The Male Nanny’, Freddie Prinze Jr, according to Rachel, is the perfect babysitter there could ever be. Ross may disagree, but we definitely don’t.

Brad Pitt

Jennifer Aniston’s then spouse, Brad Pitt made an appearance in Season 8, ‘The One With The Rumour’ as Will Colbert. Pitt plays the role of Rachel’s high school classmate who hated her then and hates her even now. It’s an episode that’s worth the watch because Pitt looks gorgeous, and you’ll find yourself in splits.

Julia Roberts

In Season 2, the episode, ‘The One After the Super Bowl’ was literally aired after the Super Bowl had quite a star cast. When Chandler runs into an old friend from school, little does he know that she would turn out to be one of the prettiest women he had ever seen. But Susie Moss, played by Julia Roberts is unfazed by Chandler’s charm and has only one thing on her mind—getting revenge for a prank he played on her when they were kids.

Ben Stiller

Playing the role of Rachel’s sweet, warm and funny boyfriend, Tommy in Season 3, Ben Stiller was definitely a fun twist to the show. While he appears to be the perfect boyfriend, Tommy has some major anger issues. Needless to say there’s a lot of drama, jealousy, and a big blow up, everything you need for the perfect episode.

Danny DeVito

In Season 10, Phoebe is all set to marry the man of her dreams, Mike, played by Paul Rudd, and Rachel and Monica throw her a surpise bachelorette party. But a bachelorette is incomplete without a stripper—enter Danny DeVito as Officer Goodbody. What starts off as an awkward experience soon turns into the bachelorette party of Phoebe’s dreams.

Ana Farris

In the final season, Monica and Chandler decide to start their family and soon end up opting for a surrogate. Erica, played by Anna Faris, is the one who ends up picking Monica and Chandler and even gives them a surprise they’d never forget.

Denise Richards

If you are a true Friends fan, it’s almost impossible to forget this iconic moment. In Season 7, ‘The One With Ross And Monica’s Cousin’, Denise Richards comes in as the stunning Cassie Geller. It’s safe to say that Denise Richards in slo-mo has its own fan base.
