Ranbir Kapoor is having one of the best years of his life, professionally and personally. With finally having a theatrical release after almost four years, Kapoor is back on the big screen for his upcoming film, Shamshera, which is set in the 1800s and revolves around a tribe and their fight for Independence against the British.

Recently, in an interview, when the actor was asked what pushed him to experiment and portray a larger-than-life character like Shamshera, the Jagga Jasoos actor replied, “Conviction.” He further went on to explain that “It was a natural progression for me after 15 years and 17 films. I’ve done the coming of age, I have come off age, I am done being the Harry Potter of Hindi Cinema. I was waiting for the right opportunity, not that the offers have not come my way, but I was looking for the right opportunity, right director and the combination is very important,” he added. Kapoor also went on to say that Shamshera, which is all set to release on July 27, has been the toughest film he has ever worked on in his career. The period action film also stars Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt.

Right after Shamshera, Kapoor will be gearing up for one of his most highly anticipated films, Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva, which will be released on September 9, 2022. He will be sharing the screen alongside Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy.
