After almost four years since she was last seen in films, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to appear in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan: I. Recently, the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil star shared her first look on Instagram with the caption, “Vengeance has a beautiful face! Meet Nandini, the Queen of Pazhuvoor!”
Based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s 1955 novel, Ponniyin Selvan revolves around Vandiyadevan, a charming young man who sets out to the Chola land to send a critical message to the King and the Princess from the Crown Prince, Aditya Karikalan, and the various experiences he has.
Being the ever-supportive husband, Abhishek Bachchan took to Instagram to share the first look of Rai as Nandini. The couple who got married in 2007, have always shown the world their support and love for each other, which includes celebrating each of their career and personal milestones. That’s what the kids these days call #couplegoals.
Ponniyin Selvan will be the fourth time Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Mani Ratnam will be working together after Raavan, Guru, and Iruvar. The big-budgeted film is set to release on September 30, and will also star Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Sobhita Dhulipala among others.
