When we think of Chris Hemsworth, the first thing that comes to mind is his gorgeous blonde hair and beard. His golden locks have nearly as large a fandom as his cosmic hammer-weilding on-screen character Thor. But Hemsworth is retiring the golden hair in favour of thick red hair and a beard as he prepares to appear in George Miller’s upcoming prequel to his 2015 hit Mad Max: Fury Road.
The prequel Furiosa is going to focus on Charlize Theron’s Imperator Furiosa’s back story, taking place years before Fury Road. Hemsworth’s presence in the movie was announced recently, making fans even more excited for the movie. But it was the new set images that surfaced online that have gotten fans in a frenzy over his drastic transformation.
In the photos, Hemsworth can be seen on set in his costume and make-up, complete with dark red hair and a full beard.

According to reports, the Thor actor will not be appearing as one of the good guys in the movie. The actor will be playing the role of one of the big antagonists in the movie, Warlord Dementus, who apparently has red hair and looks like a Nordic God.
Miller, who revived the Mad Max franchise in 2015, is super excited for fans to see the barren, dystopian Universe expanding with this prequel.
Along with Hemsworth, the movie will also star Anya Taylor-Joy as the titular Furiosa. The Queen’s Gambit actress will be taking on the mantle of the one-armed bada*s as she finds herself trying to survive in a barren world while two dangerous warlords fight for supremacy.
The movie will hit the theaters on May 24, 2024.
