The author of Red, White & Royal Blue, Casey McQuiston took to Twitter on June 1, to announce that the Amazon Prime Video film has cast its two lead characters, Prince Henry and Alex Claremont-Diaz. Prince Henry will be played by Nicholas Galitzine, who played the role of the British Prince Robert in the 2021 Cinderella, while Taylor Zakhar Perez of Kissing Booth 2 fame will play the role of the First Son of the United States of America, Alex.

Casey McQuiston and Amazon Studios also shared that Clifton Collins Jr., Sarah Shahi, Stephen Fry, Rachel Hilson, Ellie Bamber, Aneesh Sheth, Polo Morin, Ahmed Elhaj, and Akshay Khanna will be a part of the film. Published in 2019, Red, White & Royal Blue revolves around Alex, the son of the United State’s first woman president, and Prince Henry, who is preparing to take over the British throne. Both of them don’t get along but during Henry’s older brother’s wedding, fate brings them together and they are forced to form a fake friendship. But soon, their friendship takes a turn as Henry and Alex start developing feelings for each other that threaten to ruin their country’s political dynamics.

Fans have taken over social media to share their excitement of watching their favourite book come alive on screen. The movie will be directed by Matthew Lopez and will start filming in Britain this month.
