The Kapoor sisters are known to elevate the style quotient of any wedding they are invited to—remember the showstopper outfits they pulled out for their cousin, Armaan Jain’s wedding? Given that Ranbir has long been the darling of the family, it comes as little surprise that the sisters pulled out all stops to celebrate the most joyous day of his life. Despite security keeping things hush-hush within the residence, eagle-eyed paparazzi were quick to snap the guests arriving at the venue, offering a closer look at the fashion choices for the evening.
In signature Kareena style, the star lit up the night with a metallic lehenga, however, a closer look would prove that it’s unlike the ones she already has in her wardrobe. There’s the colour palette—a gentle ombré from silver to muted hues of lavender and blue. With a dash of sparkling diamonds around her neck, a braided hairdo and white manicure, the star looked ready to rule the dancefloor.
By her side, Karisma offers an interesting juxtaposition in the saturated hues of mustard orange. The timeless allure of an anarkali won her vote for the evening, with a pair of classic jhumkas, potli bag and juttis leaning into the vintage appeal of her look. The sunny hues of yellow also found a fan in filmmaker and close friend, Karan Johar who was spotted in a cheery kurta doused with floral embroidery and detailed with mirrorwork. A visibly moved Johar is said to have been overcome with emotion and was among the first to apply mehendi to the blushing bride.
Over on the groom’s side of the family, Neetu Kapoor and Riddhima Sahni continued to deliver on major fashion inspiration. While Ranbir’s mother opted for a multi-hued ensemble from her go-to designers, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, his sister turned to couturier Manish Malhotra for a contemporary silhouette—his signature sequin sari, this time served in the starry hues of silver and complemented with a statement choker and coordinated earrings.
